Storage Case?

I'm looking for a good coin case. Any suggestions?

When you first start out I highly RECOMMEND the NGC boxes because they FIT both the NGC & PCGS and many of the others. silver or new clear

Same can NOT be said for PCGS blue or old green boxes. I used to keep the gold slabs in green silver slabs in blue - then switched to NGC boxes - then went BELOW!

IMVHO

However if you go to AMOS Numismatic supplies (google) they have other boxes. Coin world Stamp world magazines company.

I do LOVE the clear top aluminum cases they fit all but cost way more than NGC or PCGS boxes.

Best wishes,

a good box keeps you organized.

Anyway, back on topic, Legion, form factor of what you've got makes all the difference.

HS is spot-on about storage boxes for slabbed coins.

If you've got a lot of raw coins in 2x2 flips, then I like the blue plastic Whitman boxes. There are also nice cardboard boxes designed to fit flips in most any size.

If it's a smaller number of nice coins or a themed set you want to be able to see or show easily, then an album can be a nice way to go.

If it's a mix, I'm kinda' partial to reusing empty SAE monster boxes for general bulk storage of assorted stuff (mixture of rolls, bars, boxed proofs, carded coins, mint sets, etc...).

Oh, yeah, I forgot. If you want somethin' real purdy, poker chip cases can work out nicely... like this:

Ah, and for tubes of gold coins I like Pelican sealed cases with foam:

Many sizes, many colors, and available with or without foam.

I bought one of them dam empty SAE boxes and it wouldn't fit in my safe.

The empty Maple box is more fitting for ME.

Looks like you need a bigger safe pretty soon anyway!

I know. I keep rearranging it but can't seem to squeeze out any more inches haha. Thanks for the Pelican link, I like those. HH Mark

I'm using a small metal box but I may take them back to safe desposit box. I have some sitting in a Harris pocket album. Which is easy to handle & look through my coins.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=504924

Only weighs 30 LB. --- don't know are they got the weight they mention???

Could use 50 cal ammo cans inside for your silver:yes:

Big enough you could RENT it out to a family of "HOBBITS" -- sort of a "HOBBIT HABITAT" --- Iunderstand that "HOBBITS" make GREAT PETS!:111::4_1_72::shine:

Get 3 and stack them:wink: and you got a "HOBBIT HIGH RISE HABITAT":s1::4_1_72::shine:
